AUSTIN -- The funeral for Gertie Knutson, 107, of Radcliffe, Iowa, the mother of an Austin man, was Wednesday in Our Savior's Lutheran church in Radcliffe. Burial was in Radcliffe Cemetery.
Mrs. Knutson, the former Gertie Bjerkestrand, died Saturday (Sept. 18, 2004) in Story City, Iowa, in Bethany Manor.
Surviving are two sons, including the Rev. Glennys (Margaret) Knutson of Austin; a daughter; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.C. Knutson, four brothers and three sisters.
Boeke Funeral Home of Radcliffe was in charge of arrangements.
