Don't ever say there's no such thing as a free lunch.
Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Local 21, the hotel, hospital, restaurant and tavern employees union, is sponsoring a free lunch at the Peace Plaza for Rochester residents.
Residents are asked to bring a nonperishable food item or cash donations for Channel One, a local food bank for which the event is raising money.
"Day by day, Rochester is more at risk of becoming a city of working poor," said Dave Blanchard, Local 21 business manager. "If workers cannot earn a decent wage and a voice on the job, there's going to be more need for food banks like Channel One."
