Authorities are trying to determine what caused the death of a 16-year-old Rochester girl Wednesday morning.
Police Capt. Jim Pittenger said officers went out on a medical call shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday after getting word that the teenage girl was unresponsive. The girl, identified as Maihnia Moua, was found dead in her boyfriend's home at 2119 15th St. S.E.
Police said the girl was last seen alive at 2 a.m. Wednesday when she went to bed. Her boyfriend, also 16, discovered she wasn't breathing about 8 a.m. and called 911. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Olmsted County Coroner Dr. Eric Pfeifer conducted an autopsy Wednesday. He said there were no signs of trauma and he found no medical condition that would have caused her death. He is awaiting results of toxicology tests.
