WINONA -- Two teenagers were injured in a two-car collision about 7 p.m. Friday on U.S. 61 a few miles east of Winona. The State Patrol said the two were passengers in the back seat of a car.
Alec Charles Kurbezel, 16, address unknown, was taken to Winona Community Hospital and has been released. Angela Marie Welter, 16, of Winona, was flown to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wis., and was listed in critical condition there this morning.
The patrol said the car was driven by Heather Kay Roberts, 18, of Winona. She was driving north on U.S. 61, made a left turn onto Winona County Road 15 near Homer and collided with a southbound car driven by Rosemary Bambenek, 48, of Fountain City, Wis.
Roberts, her front-seat passenger, Tim Ryan Thrune, 18, no address available, and Bambenek's passenger, Daniel Bambenek, 47, were not injured.

The patrol said alcohol was not involved.
