Braatz scores game-high 19

Lindsay Braatz made three 3-pointers and scored a season-high 19 points to pace Rochester Century in a 54-35 Big Nine Conference win over visiting Mankato West Tuesday night.

Century defeated West for the second time this season, and the Panthers improved to 8-3 in the Big Nine and 12-6 overall. West is 10-6, 7-4 in the conference.

Century coach Aaron Berg said it was a tale of two halves for his team, which led 23-17 at halftime.


"The girls came out strong and played a complete defensive game," Berg said. "We struggled shooting in the first half (29 percent), but stuck with our plan and got some shots to fall later."

Jessica Hazelton and Mallory Cochran had six rebounds each to help Century to a 28-23 rebounding edge. Emily Hoyer added six steals, four rebounds and five points.

Century’s next game is Friday night at Mayo.
