ST. PAUL — The host committee for the 2008 Republican National Convention said it has reached its most recent fundraising goal of $14 million in cash and in-kind contributions for next year’s convention in St. Paul.
"We’re in good shape," said committee spokesman Jeff Larson.
The committee needs to raise about $60 million to help cover costs connected with the convention, which will be held Sept. 1-4 at the Xcel Energy Center.
The committee said it has met all of its interim goals and faces another one in two months.

The money will be used for temporary construction, preparations for the thousands of news media personnel, bus transportation for delegates and promoting the Twin Cities.
