Gopher game on ESPN Classic TV
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- ESPN Classic will air Saturday's game between Michigan and Minnesota in the cable channel's first live broadcast of a football game, officials said.
The network decided to air the game on ESPN Classic to make sure that the contest -- originally scheduled for broadcast on ESPN -- would not be pre-empted by the major league baseball playoffs. If the game is not pre-empted by baseball, it will be simulcast on both networks, ESPN officials said.
The 86th battle for the Little Brown Jug between the No. 13 Golden Gophers and No. 14 Wolverines kicks off at 11 a.m. central time.
In addition, ESPN Classic will feature 18 hours of Michigan (4-1, 2-0 Big Ten) and Minnesota (5-0, 2-0) programing leading up to Saturday's game beginning at noon Friday.
