Candidates for the District 5 seat on the Olmsted County Board of Commissioner -- Regina Mustafa, Brian Morgan and Jim Bier-- were asked to provide their thoughts on how a portion of the county's role in supporting nonprofit agencies.
The question posed was: Olmsted County partners with a variety of local nonprofit agencies to deliver services to residents. Does the county board have a role in ensuring the private nonprofit organizations are able to weather the added need for services amid the COVID-19 pandemic?

The candidates for the seat, which represents a portion of Northwest Rochester and the county stretching west, including Byron, are on the ballot for the Aug. 11 primary election to narrow candidates to two for the November general election.
