Four candidates for the Ward 4 seat on the Rochester City Council -- , Katrina Pulham, Kelly Rae Kirkpatrick, PJ Calkins, and Abel Brito -- were asked to provide their thoughts on the complex nature of Ward 4, which includes the downtown core and a variety of neighborhoods with different needs.

The question posed was:Your ward includes businesses in the heart of downtown, as well as southeast neighborhoods with a variety of diverse needs. How would you balance the expectations of the different parts of the ward when they conflict with each other?

The candidates for the seat, which represents much of southeast and downtown Rochester, are on the ballot for the Aug. 11 primary election to narrow candidates to two for the Nov. 3 general election.
