Business leaders and recruiters interested in developing a successful diverse workforce are being offered a free online workshop Wednesday.
Destination Medical Center and the city of Rochester are partnering with Winona State University Adult & Continuing Education to offer “Inclusive Workforce Practices: Why You Need a Workforce Participation Plan” at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The 90-minute workshop is for CEOs, presidents, vice presidents, managers, recruiters, equity and inclusion officers, and other human resources staff.
Sybil L. Dunlop, a national leader on diversity, equity and inclusion issues, will facilitate the online event.
Through the workshop, participants will:
Understand the value proposition for effectively recruiting and retaining a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Learn the benefits of integrating actionable workforce workplans with affirmative action plans to meet workforce participation goals.
Become aware of best practices from organizations with leading equitable and inclusive hiring practices.
DMC and the city of Rochester want to ensure equitable opportunities for contractors and the workforce. The city has started requiring Workforce Participation Work Plans this year with bids on DMC projects.
