Grand Meadow kicks off to itself, goes on to romp

Grand Meadow recovered an onside kick to open Friday night's game against Alden-Conger and it took only 50 seconds to score a touchdown.

This opening series set the tone for the visiting Superlarks as they went on to score 27 points in the first quarter. Grand Meadow's defense also played well in a 58-0 win.

Superlarks quarterback Kyle Breitbarth had a 43-yard run to set up the first touchdown of the night. Eric Holst capped off the five-play drive with a short touchdown run.

Breitbarth then took over the show as he ran for the next touchdown and threw for two more scores in the first quarter.

"We came out and ran the no-huddle offense for the whole first quarter," Grand Meadow coach Gary Sloan said.

Breitbarth was 7-of-17 passing on the night for 141 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Grand Meadow quarterback had no interceptions and completed passes to five different receivers.
