CHATFIELD -- The funeral for Greta Marion Brogan will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chatfield, with the Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Chatfield.
Mrs. Brogan, 86, of Chatfield, a lifelong area resident, died Friday (May 10, 2002) at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield where she had lived six years.
Greta Marion Andersen was born Oct. 14, 1915, near LeRoy, grew up in the Chatfield area and graduated from Chatfield High School in 1932. On July 14, 1945, she married Joseph Brogan in Chatfield. They operated Brogan and Pettey Produce Co. in Chatfield for many years, and she also was employed as a seamstress. Mrs. Brogan was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She enjoyed refinishing furniture and flower gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue (Jack) Bordeaux of Largo, Fla., and Nancy (Tom) Tempel of Minneapolis; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Four brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield and an hour before the service Tuesday at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
