A groundbreaking ceremony Monday will kick off construction of Rochester’s fifth fire station. The ceremony will be at 11 a.m. at the site on 28th Street Southeast, near U.S. 63.
Fire station No. 5 will serve the southern portion of the city. It was designed by Yaggy Colby and Associates. The general contractor is Alvin E. Benike Inc. Construction is to be done in June 2008.
Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede, members of the city council and fire commission, and other community leaders will attend the ceremony.
