ZUMBROTA — Guitarist Billy McLaughlin, who has developed a unique method of tapping out notes on his guitar, will perform at 8 p.m. July 11 at Crossings at Carnegie, 320 East Ave., Zumbrota.
McLaughlin began developing his complex style of playing in the 1980s, but then became afflicted with focal dystonia, a neuromuscular disorder that forced him to stop playing music for a time.
Gradually, he was able to adapt to his limitations and again taught himself to play his signature style, this time left-handed.
His most recent album, "Into the Light," is a concert recordings of acoustic guitar accompanied by a string orchestra.
Tickets are $14 in advance, $16 at the door; for reservations call (507) 732-7616.
