Scoring festival

SPRING GROVE — They didn’t give any hint that this would be a high-scoring affair. At least not after the first quarter, which ended 0-0.

Then, both offenses took off, especially M-C’s. The Cougars scored 40 points in the decisive second quarter.

M-C finished with 495 yards rushing. It had a huge individual game from Michael Williams, as he scored four touchdowns, threw for a touchdown and ran in three conversions. Williams totaled 111 yards rushing on 12 carries. Teammate Parker Johnson had 114 yards rushing on 10 carries.

Spring Grove got 30 points from Chris Connelly, who scored four touchdowns and rushed for 136 yards.

Lions quarterback Colin Kurk threw for 191 yards, but was picked off three times.
