Hall of famers gather for concert

Members of the Minnesota and Iowa rock music halls of fame will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. July 21 at the Paramount Theatre in Austin.

Members of the Trashmen, the Bandits, the Fendermen, the Underbeats, Dee-Jay and the Runaways, the Continental Co-ets and the DC Drifters will perform.

Some of the bands had regional and national hit records, including the Trashmen's "Surfin' Bird," which went to No. 4 nationally in 1963, and the Fendermen's "Mule Skinner Blues," which went to No. 5 in 1960.

Tickets are $12 in advance at the Paramount box office, Austin Hy-Vee, Austin Chamber of Commerce office, the Hardy Geranium and Tone Music in Albert Lea.

Tickets are $14 at the door.
