Mower County Public Health Nursing Service has announced Public Health Immunization Week will be Aug. 18-22, in conjunction with the observance of August as National Immunization Awareness Month.

Minnesota immunization law requires several vaccinations for students to be enrolled in school. Requirements for children entering kindergarten are five diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTaP), four polio, two measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), three hepatitis B and a varicella (chickenpox) or proof of this disease.

Immunization clinics will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 18 and 10:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 21. The regular Friday clinic on Aug. 22 will have extended hours from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Immunizations are $14. Prepaid Medical Assistance programs will be accepted.

Mower County Public Health Nursing Service is in Oak Park Mall at 1301 18th Ave. N.W. in Austin. The entrance is on the mall’s south side.
