Hear stories about the Zumbro Valley Jail Cell

The Zumbro Valley Jail Cell will be the subject of a program from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 13 at the Reads School museum at Reads Landing.

Emery Henn, professional auctioneer, folk story teller and humorist will share his memories about the jail cell. The cell currently makes its home on the museum campus just outside the Reads Landing school building.

Henn claims he witnessed many area citizens take temporary residence in the cell after spending a rousing Saturday night in Zumbro Falls. As a small boy, he remembers his grandfather, who ran the Shell Gas Station next to the jail, assist a number of rowdy young men into the four-person cell.

Admission is free for those with a paid membership card, and $5 at the door for visitors.
