The Paws Abilities dog training center recently celebrated its new complex at the edge of Oronoco.

A grand opening event took place at 1200 South Lake Shady Ave. in Oronoco on the last weekend of October.

Owner Sara Reusche said prior to moving to the 5,000-square-foot facility, Paws Abilities’ classes were spread out at a variety of sub-leased locations throughout the area. This move brought all of her her team of 25 trainers and their classes under one roof.

The building previously was occupied by Mom’s Antiques. Paws Abilities made the move late this past summer.

Reusche has divided the building into two spaces — an obedience area and a sports area. That allows for two classes to take place at the same time.

She also has plans for the spring, when Paws Abilities hopes to turn a 16,000-square-foot chunk of land into a outdoors canine area.

“We want to use that area for disc dog training, lure coursing and adding a doggie obstacle course,” she said.

A northwest Rochester office complex recently sold for $1.95 million for the second time this year.

The 12-year-old Fortman/Superior Vistas building at 2647 Superior Drive NW was purchased by Friedman Enterprises, of Rochester, on Oct. 30. Its tenants include North Pointe Dental.

Friedman bought the 7,094-square-foot building from LNI Floorco LLC, of Clear Lake, Iowa.

LNI has only owned it since January, when it paid $1.95 million to Synergy Partners LLC, of Rochester.

Olmsted County estimated the total market value for building at $1.09 million for 2017-2018.
