A new co-working/studio center is gearing up to open in southwest Rochester.
Ethan Klee is preparing to launch Studio on Second at 1741 Second St. SW to host up to 75 co-working or studio tenants.
That's the building best known for housing Holt Title Guaranty Co. until it was absorbed by Rochester Title & Escrow Co. in 2015.
Klee believes the Med City needs more places like this to meet growing demand.
"Rochester is a busy place," he said.
The 4,000-square-foot building offers three dedicated offices, a conference room and 35 "pod" workspaces.
What sets Studio on Second apart, according to Klee, is that it also provides studio space that can be used by yoga instructors looking for a place to hold classes or a photographer looking for a spot for a photoshoot. It can also be used for special events, meetings or parties.
"It has a sophisticated vibe," he said.
To kick off his new venture with a soft opening, Klee is hosting a "Lake-Style Summer Bash" on Sept. 12 at Studio on Second. The event will feature live music, food, information about boat and cabin ownership and a chance to win a boat.
