A southwest Med City senior living community is looking to add a new memory care facility.
Rochester's Titan Development filed a land development plan last week to build a 45-unit memory care facility at 3576 Fairway Ridge Lane.
The plans show it right next to the Fairway Ridge Cooperative senior living complex. However, the Titan memory center is not associated with the Fairway Ridge Cooperative.
The plans map out a two-story, 35,900-square-foot complex. No one from Titan Development was available to discuss the project.
Doughnuts and baked goods are on the rise in the Med City.
Rochester's second Dunkin' Donuts opened in a new commercial center at 2519 Commerce Drive Northwest this week.
Franchisees Oliver Schugel and David Schooff, of Donut Kings, LLC, launched it with plans for three more shops to eventually fill Rochester's doughnut holes.
Donut Kings took over Rochester's Dunkin' franchise in 2016 from Rochester Retail Services, a division of the Kahler Hospitality Group.
Rochester Retail Services opened the first Rochester Dunkin' in June 2014 at 15 First Ave. SW in its Kahler Grand Hotel complex in the heart of downtown. It was the first one in Minnesota since 2005.
Dunkin' said then that Rochester Retail Services would be opening five more shops in the next few years. Those shops didn't materialize and later Donut Kings took over the Med City franchise.
This latest opening comes on the heels of last week's openings of the latest location of Rochester’s popular Daube’s Bakery.
Daube's, a local staple, opened a new southeast location in the former Carousel Floral and Gift center, at 1600 S. Broadway.
It is Daube’s third Rochester location, along with the original Civic Center Drive bakery and Daube’s Down-Under in the downtown Rochester subway.
