Helen A. Hodgson Welby — Rochester

ROCHESTER — A memorial service and celebration of life for Helen A. Hodgson Welby will be at 2 p.m. March 7 at Autumn Ridge Church in Rochester. Friends of Bill W. are welcome.

Helen Hodgson Welby, 45, of Rochester, died Friday (Feb. 23, 2007) at Saint Marys Hospital, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident Thursday.

Helen Anne Hodgson was born Nov. 23, 1961, in Rochester, and graduated from John Marshall High School. She became a certified nursing assistant in 1980 and received her associate’s degree in business from Rochester Community College in 1985. She went on to earn an engineering degree in composite materials from Winona State University and a master’s in business administration from Regis University, graduating with highest honors. In 1989, she married James Welby, and they had fraternal twins. She worked for various manufacturing companies from 2006 until her death, and was a master scheduler for Cummins Power Generation in Plymouth, Minn.

Survivors include her children, Haley and John Welby; her parents, Dr. and Mrs. C. John Hodgson of Rochester; a sister, Amy Hodgson of Robbinsdale, Minn.; and her former husband, James Welby of Wabasha. Her grandfather, Dr. Corrin Hodgson, died Feb. 25.
