Helen Catherine Rettler #x2013;; Lake City

LAKE CITY -- The funeral for Helen Catherine Rettler will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City, with the Rev. Bruce Stam officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City.

Mrs. Rettler, 88, of Lake City, died Thursday (April 8, 2004) at Lake City Nursing Home.

Helen Catherine Nelson was born Oct. 17, 1915, in Lake City, grew up in Lake City and graduated from Lincoln High School. On Aug. 5, 1935, she married Donald Rettler in Wabasha. They lived in Lake City, where she was a homemaker and also was a receptionist for Drs. Bowers and Gjerde for many years. Her husband died in 1967. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City and was active with the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include a daughter, Toni Anderson of Lake City; two sons, Steven of Lake City and Tom of Eagan, Minn.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and two brothers.

Friends may call an hour before the service Saturday at the funeral home.
