Helen Constance Brown -- Chatfield

CHATFIELD -- A memorial service for Helen Constance Brown will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Ranfranz Funeral Home Chapel in Rochester with the Rev. Kerry Eversole officiating. Burial will be in the Lanesboro Cemetery.

Mrs. Brown, 84, of Chatfield, a retired beauty shop owner, died Tuesday (July 23, 2002) at Olmsted Community Hospital in Rochester. She had been living at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield.

Helen Constance Andreas was born Dec. 12, 1917, in Montevideo, Minn. In 1953, she married Homer Brown in Lanesboro. Her husband was employed in highway construction. He died in 1996. She owned and operated beauty shops in Lanesboro and Chatfield, and later worked in Rochester as a clerk at a nutrition food store and a thrift shop.

Survivors include a daughter, Connie Rehm of Rochester; two stepsons, Jerome (Shirley) Brown of Rochester and Richard (Brenda) Brown of Newark, Ohio; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Serfling of Harmony. A son and a sister preceded her in death.

Friends may call an hour before the service Saturday at the funeral home.


Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
