Heroes/highlights 4-3

Baseball

• Pete Kildahl went 2-for-2 with a triple and four RBIs and pitched a four-hitter for the victory as Houston defeated Lyle/Pacelli 18-1 in five innings.

Softball

• Jessica Hegseth went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and pitched a one-hit shutout as Zumbrota-Mazeppa blanked La Crescent 5-0.

• Lainey Sorensen was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Hillary Zwart was 2-for-3 with one RBI as Pine Island held off Cannon Falls 8-6.

• Nicole Haley tossed a three-hit shutout and struck out nine to outduel Kristen Schuth as Plainview-Elgin-Millville nipped Wabasha-Kellogg 2-0. Schuth also allowed just three hits and no earned runs.

Boys track

• Jordan Jarland won the 200 dash, long jump and triple jump for Lanesboro/Fillmore Central in a four-team meet at Rushford. Host Rushford-Peterson/Houston won the meet, followed by Winona Cotter.

• Tommy Tjepkes won both the 110 and 300 hurdle events to help host Plainview-Elgin-Millville win a four-team event.

• Nathan Conroy (800, 1,600) and Brady Kramer (long jump, high jump) both won a pair of individual event as host Hayfield won a four-team meet.

Girls track

• Jana Olsan won the 100 hurdles and pole vault to help host Rushford-Peterson/Houston win a four-team event. Jordyn Dudek won the 800 run and triple jump to help Chatfield place second.

• Lisa Flynn won the triple jump and shot put as Stewartville won a four-team meet at Plainview-Elgin-Millville.

• Genessa Heide won the 100 dash, 200 dash and high jump for Hayfield as the host Vikings placed second to Grand Meadow/LeRoy-Ostrander/Southland in a four-team event. Elizabeth May won a pair of individual events (1,600 and triple jump) for GMLOS.
