Records: Southland is 4-0 overall on the season and 1-0 in the Three Rivers Conference, South Division. Chatfield is 2-2 overall, 0-1 in the TRC South.

Last week: Southland won its fourth straight game with a convincing 34-6 dismantling of Fillmore Central on homecoming. The Rebels continue to pound away with their rushing offense as they rolled up 306 yards on the ground in the win over the Falcons. Chatfield lost to Kingsland 15-14 on a touchdown and two-point conversion in the final minutes.

Last meeting: The Chatfield Gophers won 16-14 last year on their home field. The difference was the Gophers made both of their two-point conversion attempts after the touchdowns.

Chatfield notes: The Gophers like to run the ball as they proved last week with all of their 181 offensive yards coming on the ground. Nic Obey and Evan VonWald scored the two Chatfield touchdowns in the span of a minute-and-a-half in the third quarter.

Southland notes: The Rebels are ranked sixth in the Class A state poll this week. Jake Chapek continues to amass impressive yardage totals in the running game. Chapek has rushed for 650 yards and scored 11 touchdowns in the first four games.
