RED WING -- Construction along Minnesota Highway 58 near Red Wing is progressing on schedule, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Workers will continue to grade and apply gravel to the road this week. Paving is scheduled to begin Oct. 13 and will continue into November. The highway will reopen in mid-November.
Highway 58 is being rebuilt from just south of County Road 5 to Seventh Street. The project widens the existing two-lane road to four lanes. Other improvements, including traffic lights and sewer upgrades, are also being made.
