History center events set for Sept. 25-27

Three days of music and history will be presented Sept. 25-27 at the Olmsted County History Center.

The first event is a performance at 7 p.m. Sept. 25 by Ash and Reuben Fast Horse, who will present Native American story, song and dance. The program includes an introduction to the Lakota language, traditional dances and sign language. Admission is $3.

Gaelic Tribe will provide music for a traditional barn dance at 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Steppel Farm. Music of Ireland, Scotland and Wales will accompany jigs, reels and other dances. Food will be available. Admission is $3.

Hands-on-History Day will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 27, with 35 interactive demonstrations. Visitors will be able to explore pioneer life and crafts, including corn-grinding, shingle making, hide tanning and plowing. Vintage baseball also will be featured. "The Voyageurs Tale" will be presented by the Minneapolis dance ensemble Dance Revels Moving History at 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Admission is $3.
