A fundraiser on Saturday will benefit a Claremont firefighter seriously injured last month while battling a church fire.
Gale Spatenka, 37, had been listed in critical condition at Saint Marys Hospital after a burning wall collapsed on him while fighting a fire at St. John's Lutheran Church in Havana Township in Steele County. His condition has since been upgraded to good.
The fundraiser will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Claremont Fire Hall, 235 W. Front St. in Claremont.
It will feature several direct sales products from Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Home and Garden Party, Home Interior, Partylite and Tastefully Simple. Proceeds will benefit the Spatenka family.
