Rochester Honkers outfielder Andre Ethier was one of nine recipients of the Rawlings Silver Glove award as announced by the Northwoods League.
Ethier, from Arizona State University, led all Northwoods League outfielders with a .991 fielding percentage during the 2002 season. He played in 59 of 64 regular-season games and committed only one error in 108 chances.
Ethier also batted .264 and drove in 34 RBI for the Honkers. In the spring as a sophomore he led the ASU Sun Devils with a .486 batting average and a .730 slugging percentage.
Ethier and the other Silver Glove winners will be recognized in a paid-for advertisement on the back, outside cover of Baseball America in the issue mailing out September 27, 2002.
