The Mower County Fair has come and gone, and what a great week it had. It also was a great week for one of our longtime members.
Millie King was honored as Mower County Senior Citizen of the Year. And the number of her accomplishments and volunteer duties make for a long list.
She has been a member here for more than 20 years and has been active in the Milwaukee Woman's Club, which has met here for more than 10 years. She actively leads that group, which consists of members whose husbands were all employed with the Milwaukee Railroad, (not transplants from Milwaukee, Wis.)
She has also helped many other worthy organizations, including the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, chamber of commerce and Legion. We are proud to recognize her and her association with us.
Speaking of fairs, we will be taking a bus trip to the Minnesota State Fair Aug. 29. Our trips are open to the public. Currently we do have room on our motorcoach. For more information, call us at 433-4243.
