From staff reports
The Mayo Clinic announced Wednesday that a telephone system upgrade will take place from about 10 p.m. Dec. 13 to 6 a.m. Dec. 14 at Saint Marys Hospital and Rochester Methodist Hospital.
Portions of both hospitals will experience planned temporary telephone service interruptions. The main numbers for the hospitals, the emergency room at Saint Marys and the Mayo Clinic Emergency Communications Center, which coordinates ambulance dispatch, will continue to function.
The main hospital operator number for either hospital will be 255-5123. At Rochester Methodist, patient room telephones will be out of service during the upgrade. Calls to patients should be placed to the hospital operator, who will route them to the patient care unit. Patients at Saint Marys will be able to receive and place calls from their rooms as usual.
