CALEDONIA -- A Houston County grand jury convened Thursday, presumably to hear the case against Harold Kramer Jr., the Brownsville man accused of killing his son.
Grand jury proceedings are secret, so the Houston County Attorney could not confirm that the Kramer case is the one being reviewed.
The body of 3-year-old Kenny Kramer was found in a wooded area near his grandparents' home in Brownsville in mid-May after a week-long search, sparked by a report from his father that the boy had been kidnapped. Harold Kramer Jr. was arrested within hours of the discovery.
Authorities have said that Kramer confessed to killing his son and making the kidnapping report as a way to get a girlfriend to reconcile with him.
