A weekend split with Dubuque in Iowa included the first loss of the Minnesota Junior League Hockey season for the Minnesota Ice Hawks.
Dubuque beat Minnesota 5-3 on Saturday night, snapping the Ice Hawks' eight-game winning streak to start the season.
The Ice Hawks rebounded on Sunday night with a 6-2 win and improved their record to 9-1.
Brad Weichmann, Mike Schneider and Thor Josephson scored goals for Minnesota in Saturday's loss. Joey Spracklen was kept busy in goal with 40 saves.
On Sunday, Weichmann and Cole Hughes scored two goals each in the Ice Hawks' win. Gordy Johnson and Josh Westbrook also added scores for Minnesota.

Spracken was in goal again and he saw 37 shots. The Ice Hawks had 30 shots on the Dubuque goal.
The Ice Hawks play next weekend in Rochester at the Olmsted Recreation Center. Saturday's game against the Twin Cities Northern Lights is a 7:05 start, and Sunday is 5:35 against the St. Paul Lakers.
