PINE ISLAND -- The funeral for Ida L. Stucky will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Pine Island, with the Rev. Ruth Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Pine Island Cemetery.
Mrs. Stucky, 100, of Pine Island, a former restaurant owner, died Sunday (Aug. 11, 2002) at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.
Ida Louise Schutz was born June 30, 1902, in Milton Township, Dodge County, graduated from Pine Island High School in 1921 and attended Perkins Normal Training in Kasson. She taught at Oak Ridge School in Dodge County from 1922 to 1926. On Oct. 16, 1926, she married Lisle A. "Charlie" Stucky in Pine Island. They owned and operated City Bakery and Cafe in Pine Island from 1926 to 1946. She then worked at McIntosh's Federated Store and was employed at Millers Store from 1959 until her retirement. Her husband died Dec. 11, 1970. Mrs. Stucky was a member of Pine Island United Methodist Church and its women's groups, Happy Home Rebekah Lodge and Pine Island Senior Citizens, and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Miller of Pine Island; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Eight brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
