Incident near Century High School prompts lockdown

Police were in the area responding to an incident unrelated to the school, according to district officials.

Century High School went into a short lockdown early Monday afternoon as police responded to an incident nearby. The incident was not related to the school, according to Rochester Public Schools officials.

A few students receiving distance-learning support and staff were in the school at the time. School officials initiated threat-response protocols, which require staff and students to remain in classrooms. That lasted about 15 minutes, school officials reported Monday.
