From all levels of our elected leaders I hear about inflation: city, state and federal. They say we need to raise taxes to repair our roads, to educate our children, etc.
Another thought is that we need leaders who will do a better job of managing our money. When they rebuilt Highway 52 through Rochester, they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to build a wall on each side of the highway; in St. Charles they spent approximately $50,000 for three signs welcoming you to St. Charles.
Also, why it costs so much more to educate our children. Today the buses are going constantly — fun and games is what it’s all about.
My thoughts on inflation: In the beginning God created all things. The oil, natural gas, and coal are all free. He created the animals, fish, birds, trees, and plants. They were all created to reproduce, to be used by man until the end of time.
The idea that we need to raise wages because of inflation is backward. Inflation is caused because we raise wages. Inflation is caused by the greed of humans — greed for wealth, personal recognition and the need to feel to important.
