Tim Caven, injured in a recent hunting accident northeast of Preston, has been ugraded to fair condition, a Mayo Clinic spokeswoman said.
Caven, 45, from Pennock, Minn., was injured while turkey hunting in rural Carrolton Township on Tuesday morning when a man with whom he was hunting mistook him for a turkey and fired his shotgun. Caven suffered head and chest wounds.
Fillmore County deputies have not filed charges against the shooter, who is from west-central Minnesota. Police also have declined to release the shooter's name.
