Irene Alvina Quast -- Zumbrota

ZUMBROTA -- The funeral for Irene Alvina Quast will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota, with the Revs. Wayne Radke and Darin Easler officiating. Burial will be in Zumbrota Cemetery.

Miss Quast, 96, of Zumbrota, a longtime Lochner's Department Store employee, died Monday (Oct. 28, 2002) at Zumbrota Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 17, 1906, in White Willow, Zumbrota Township, Goodhue County, grew up on the family farm and attended an area country school. After high school, she took care of her mother and was a sales clerk at Banitt's Store in Zumbrota. The store later became Lochner's Department Store, and she continued to work there for 45 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of United Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed music, traveling, gardening, flowers, sewing and reading.

Survivors include a brother, John (Audrey) Quast of Zumbrota. A brother and six sisters preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.


Memorials are suggested to United Redeemer Lutheran Church Music Program or a charity of the donor's choice.
