It’s downright balmy for November

From staff reports

People came out in force Thursday in Austin’s streets, trails and parks to walk off their Thanksgiving Day meals, thanks to soaring temperatures.

The temperature in Austin peaked at 61 degrees Thursday, with clear skies. Some southeastern Minnesota cities saw record highs on Thursday, although information on Austin’s record was not available.

The weather will be cooling in the next few days. Today’s high is expected to be 53 degrees, and Saturday’s and Sunday’s are 50 degrees. Sunday there’s a chance of rain.

By Wednesday, there’s a chance of snow.
