James L. ‘Jim’ Anderson — Rochester
ROCHESTER — The funeral Mass for James L. "Jim" Anderson will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Resurrection in Rochester; the Rev. Thomas Loomis will officiate.
Mr. Anderson, 76, of Rochester, died Monday (April 21, 2008) at Rochester Methodist Hospital, following a lengthy illness with cancer.
He was born March 8, 1932, in Rochester. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1950, and joined the Navy shortly thereafter. Mr. Anderson was retired from IBM, where he had worked for more than 30 years. He enjoyed camping, hiking, and the outdoors, as well as music, reading, sports and spending time with family. He was also an animal lover. On April 21, 1956, he married Faye Glynn; she survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Mark (Lori) of Onalaska, Wis.; two daughters, Teresa (Steve) Davidson of Rochester and Patricia (Eugene) Sexton of Spring Valley; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Dick of Braham, Minn.; and a sister, Beverly Spratte of Rochester. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, and an hour before the service Friday at Resurrection Catholic Church.
