Jamie Aaron Schlachter -- Rochester

ROCHESTER -- A memorial service for Jamie Aaron Schlachter will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester, with the Rev. Giles Zimmer officiating.

Mr. Schlachter, 23, of Garden City, Minn., formerly of Rochester, died Tuesday (May 17, 2005) of injuries suffered in an auto accident in St. Joseph, Mich.

Born Dec. 9, 1981, in Rochester, he graduated from Mayo High School and was a senior at Minnesota State University, Mankato. He was also manager of the tire department at Sam's Club in Mankato. He enjoyed anything mechanical, taking things apart and putting them back together, and woodworking.

Survivors include his parents, Jeffrey and Sandra Schlachter of Rochester; one brother, Jeremy of Garden City; two sisters, Amanda and Andrea Schlachter, both of Rochester; his maternal grandparents, Al (Charlotte Benoit) Wagner of Claremont; his step-grandmother, Shirley Wagner of Claremont; and his paternal grandparents, Al and Marie Schlachter of Minnetonka, Minn. One brother preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the church, and for an hour before the service Tuesday at the church.


Memorials are suggested to Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Macken Funeral Home of Rochester is in charge of arrangements.
