The annual Saint Lucia Festival and the Jane Taylor Academy of Dance Christmas Show is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Paramount Theatre. The show will feature scenes from "The Nutcracker." The event is free and open to the public.
The annual Christmas in the City kicks off Friday at 6 p.m. in downtown Austin with the Santa parade, followed by a lighting ceremony with Miss Minnesota Angie McDermott of Austin, on Main Street.
Public skating is also free at the Packer Arena from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Skate rental is $1.
