Jeanne E. Morse — Mantorville

MANTORVILLE — A memorial Mass for Jeanne E. Morse will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Kasson, with the Rev. Paul Surprenant officiating.

Mrs. Morse, 48, of rural Mantorville, died Monday (March 31, 2008) at her home, following a lengthy illness.

Jeanne Elizabeth Lorentz was born March 10, 1960, in Red Wing. She moved with her family to Byron and graduated from Byron High School in 1978. She graduated from St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in social work. She was employed at Marshall’s and Target department stores for several years. She was manager of the Target store in Rochester for three years. On May 1, 1993, she married Gregory Dale Morse at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester. They moved to Stewartville, and she was worked at Wells Fargo, Sterling State and Affinity Banks, all in Rochester. Mr. Morse is a finish carpenter for Benike Construction. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Kasson. She enjoyed sewing, interior decorating and craftwork.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Gabrielle, at home; her father, Frances Lorentz, a resident of Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center; her mother, Kay Lorentz of Byron; four sisters, Barb Pehler-Williams of Byron, Maureen (Chris) Helland of Almo, Kent., and Jennifer (John) Hoehn and Kathy (Larry) Simpson, both of Kasson; three brothers, Rick (Linda) of Kasson, Kevin (Diane) of Albert Lea, Minn., and Jeff (Dawn) of Kasson. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church and one our before the service Thursday at the church.
