ROCHESTER — A memorial service for Jeffrey W. "The Canuck" LaFrenier will be at 1 p.m. March 4 at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd., in Wayzata, Minn.
Mr. LaFrenier, 50, of Rochester, died Monday (Feb. 16, 2009) following a brief illness.
He was born March 4, 1958, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He moved with his family to Wayzata at age 7, and graduated from Wayzata High School in 1977. He joined the Army in 1978, and spent three years in Germany and three years on the East Coast. He loved playing sports when he was in school, hockey being his favorite, and he remained an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his wife, Whitefeather; a daughter, Tess, her mother, Melanie, and sister, Andrea, all of Rochester; a son, Jason; a daughter, Melissa; grandchildren, Dallas, Kylie, Zab and Reggie, all of Ohio; his mother, Phyllis (Vern); his father, Al of Canada; and a sister, Tracy (Tony). Other survivors include three nieces, Tanya, Tami, and Tina, and their father, Lloyd; a special aunt, Lorraine, and uncle, Jim, of Canada.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. March 4 at the funeral home in Wayzata.
