The Rochester John Marshall softball team lost three games -- by a total of six runs -- in an eight-team Hastings invitational Saturday.
JM had 18 players at the tournament, giving many of them experience and using three different pitchers and three catchers.
"All the girls hit the ball real hard, they just hit the ball at people, but that's just the name of the game," said JM coach Thang Nguyen.
Krista Severson batted 4-for-6 with a double and a triple in the games for JM. Kari Swancutt went 3-for-8 with a home run and five RBIs.
The Rockets, now 2-5 overall, led in every game, as they have in all their games this season.

"Our pitchers pitched well, but they didn't get any help from the defense at all," Nguyen said. "Until we stop making errors as far as mental and physical mistakes in the field, and until we get that solved, we won't win consistently."
