John C. Stock -- St. Charles

ST. CHARLES -- The funeral for John C. Stock will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in St. Charles with the Rev. Ron Prigge officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Dover.

Mr. Stock, 75, of St. Charles, died Friday (May 17, 2002) at Whitewater Health Care Center in St. Charles.

He was born March 28, 1927, in Lewiston, and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1945. In 1946 his family moved to St. Charles. On Sept. 25, 1948, he married Shirley Affeldt in St. Charles. The couple farmed in rural St. Charles. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and served on the church council, was a 4-H leader, a member of St. Charles Creamery Board and Twin Valley Board, Fremont Creamery Board, and DHIA Board. He also was a member of Consolidated Breeder's Board, Winona County Extension Committee, Dover Evergreen Cemetery board, Tri-County Electric Co-op, Lutheran Brotherhood, and Lutheran Volunteer Branch No. 8193, of which he was treasurer.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jon of St. Charles; and a brother, Larry (Marjorie) of St. Charles.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and an hour before the service Monday at St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
