CORRECTION RAN SATURDAY (4/20/02)
Sally Anderson and Jennifer Thielen were omitted from the John Marshall girls golf roster on page 5D Tuesday.
----------------------------------------------------- Coach: Dawn Sonju, 3rd season.
Top returners: Junior Sarah Warner is probably the most experienced JM golfer and routinely posted the lowest scores on the team last spring. Juniors Kristi Arthur, Miranda Haldorson, Katherine Hughes also will be looked upon for low scores throughout the season.
Outlook: With no seniors on the roster, Sonju considers this spring to be a rebuilding season. "We are on our way to building a strong girls golf program for John Marshall," Sonju said. The participatory numbers are improving for JM, but the majority of the players are new to the game of golf.

Big Nine Conference: Coach Sonju expects Mayo, Century and Austin to lead the league.
JOHN MARSHALL BOYS GOLF PREVIEW
Coach: Mark Glaeser, 5th year.
Top returners: Senior Brian Moehnke was a Big Nine all-conference golfer. He shot a 77 to finish fifth last year in the Big Nine tournament and is expected to be one of the top golfers in the conference again this year. Seniors Chad Benning and Matt Lien, and junior Jeremy Griffing, all earned major varsity experience last season, too.
Outlook: With eight members who played varsity golf at some point last season, the Rockets look to improve on last year's ninth-place finish.
Big Nine Conference: When asked to list Big Nine and Section One, Class AA team favorites, JM coach Glaeser's reply? "Century, Century and Century."
