Jon Allen Rosenthal -- Austin

AUSTIN -- The funeral for Jon Allen Rosenthal will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, with the Rev. Ronald Barnett officiating. Interment with military honors by American Legion Post 91 will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Rosenthal, 68, of Austin, died Thursday (Dec. 1, 2005) at his home.

Born Jan. 2, 1937, in Austin, he graduated from Austin High School in 1955 and served in the Air Force from 1955 to 1958. On Oct. 1, 1960, he married Jean Larson at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. After his military service, his employers included R &; E Market, American Can Co., Hormel Foods Corp. and Mayo Clinic. He was employed by the United States Postal Service for 20 years, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed fishing with his family, woodworking and riding his moped around the neighborhood.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Curt of Minneapolis, Craig (Heather) of Brownsdale and Chris (Amy) of Buffalo Lake, Minn.; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Dale (Shirley) of Austin and Jerry (Rhonda) of Fremont, Neb.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and an hour before the service Monday at the church.
