Josephine T. Schweitzer -- Wabasha

WABASHA -- A funeral Mass for Josephine T. Schweitzer will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Felix Catholic Church, with the Rev. Donald Lovas officiating. Burial will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park in Milwaukee.

Mrs. Schweitzer, 81, of Wabasha, a homemaker, died Monday evening (April 8, 2002) at Oakview Care Center in Durand, Wis., where she had resided for two years.

Josephine T. Trawicki was born May 21, 1920, in Milwaukee. On Nov. 10, 1936, she married Robert Schweitzer in Crown Point, Ind. They lived in Milwaukee before moving to Wabasha in 1989. Her husband died Jan. 30, 1995. Mrs. Schweitzer worked with her daughter in the operation of The Girls, a doll and gift shop in Wabasha. She was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha and St. Felix Council of Catholic Women.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann (Linn) Pfeilsticker of Wabasha; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Henrietta Trawicki of Milwaukee. She was also preceded in death by two sons, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha and an hour before the service Friday at the church. There will be a Council of Catholic Women rosary service at 4:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
